Ardelyx was founded with a mission to discover, develop, and commercialize innovative, first-in-class medicines that meet significant unmet medical needs. Ardelyx has two commercial products approved in the United States, IBSRELA (tenapanor) and XPHOZAH (tenapanor), as well as early-stage pipeline candidates. Purpose of the role : The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will serve as a field-based extension of Ardelyx's Medical Affairs team, representing Ardelyx within the GI community. The MSL will build long-term peer-to-peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other stakeholders to deliver clinical, scientific, and technical education supporting IBSRELA. This role requires acting as an advanced technical, scientific, and medical expert in IBS-C for the assigned region, fostering awareness and understanding of Ardelyx's assets and disease state. Position Responsibilities : Identify, establish, and manage collaborative relationships with local, national, and regional medical/scientific leaders and investigators to address scientific needs. Provide healthcare professionals and decision makers with accurate, unbiased, and timely information in gastroenterology and primary care. Develop scientific and clinical relationships with thought leaders and academic or community centers to expand research and educational opportunities. Engage in proactive scientific discussions on topics such as disease state, diagnosis, epidemiology, unmet medical needs, and population health. Support data generation activities and investigator-initiated trials (IIT) as requested. Stay abreast of medical and scientific developments in the assigned therapeutic area. Participate in advisory boards, scientific conferences, and other company meetings. Position Requirements : Doctorate degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DNP, etc.) in biological sciences or an advanced medical/scientific degree (NP, PA) with clinical expertise. Minimum of 1 year of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience or 2 years of clinical expertise in gastroenterology/IBS-C. Strong data analysis skills and networking ability to engage with senior experts. Ability to work within cross-functional teams and knowledge of FDA, OIG, and PhRMA regulations governing scientific exchange. Willingness and ability to travel locally and regionally, with a preference for candidates residing in Atlanta or a large city in Florida. The annualized base pay range is $165,000-$181,500, with potential bonuses and equity awards.
